- ========KPLJ24========
- Version 1.1
- 24x24 dot print utility
- for HP LaserJet
-
- Using this program, you can print Japanese texts (JIS or SJIS coded) in
- 24 x 24 dots/character resolution on a LaserJet. At this resolution,
- very nice print results, suitable for business letters, can be obtained.
-
- KPLJ24 needs a font file with the actual images of the characters
- to be printed. This file is called KDP24SJ.FNT, and is contained in the
- archive KDPFNT24.LZH on this board. Download it, unpack it, and place it
- in the same directory as KPLJ24.EXE.
-
- Usage: [path] KPLJ24 <filename>
-
- <filename> must be the (path-)name of the file to be printed.
-
- The program will first try to load the Level 1 kanji into memory (the rarely-
- occurring Level 2 kanji will be retrieved from disk). If there is not enough
- free memory, only the ANK (alphanumerics and kana, as well as special symbols)
- will be loaded, and the first-level kanji retrieved from disk. In a 24 dot
- font, even the ANK take up a lot of space (about 100k), so you may have
- to unload some programs. It may not be possible to have KDPLUS, JWRITE, and
- a large text in memory, and also run KPLJ24 (for texts of only a few pages,
- there should be no problem, however).
-
- The source code is provided for those who would like to add "bells and
- whistles" to the program (like page numbering, or enlarged printing, triggered
- by control characters embedded in the text).
-
- A doc file which explains how kanji are coded, and font tables which
- you can print to see what your kanji printer is capable of, are enclosed
- in the archive KDPFONT.LZH, which also contains the 16x16 dot KDPLUS font.
-
- A 24-dot kanji font editor, kfe24, is available in a separate archive.
